Taxi drivers in Cross River State have threatened to withdraw their services this festive period, on or before the 21st of December, 2015 if the State Government doesn’t keep to the terms and conditions of an agreement between both parties.
The decision to make transportation difficult this festive season when the Carnival Calabar will be on was revealed by the Secretary of the taxi drivers union, Mr. Sunday Dennis while speaking to CrossRiverWatch as during their recent protest against hike in ticket.
His words: “Let everyone know that we have tried all means to reach the government; letters have been sent to the House of Assembly and the office of the Governor and we are here to see him today to no avail.
“We are giving the government until the 21st of this month to reach out to us, or we will withdraw our services from the roads and let’s see how those visitors the government cherishes over its people will view the State”, he ended.
