Ayade Ready To Increase Staff Strength And Facilities Of Community Health Centers – Betta Edu

As part of activities to mark the festivities in their home town, the Special Adviser to Governor Ayade on Community Health, Dr. Betta Edu in collaboration with the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. John Gaul Lebo, organized a free medical outreach for about 900 people in Adadama Village of Abi Local Government Area.

The outreach which was targeted at the elderly, from 65 years and above, nursing mothers and youths of the community, gave beneficiaries free medical consultation, tests for diabetes, blood pressure, sugar level, cholesterol and malaria, HIV and AIDS counselling and testing and varieties of drugs.

While addressing the beneficiaries, Dr. Betta delivered a goodwill message from the State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade, to the community and urged them to remain steadfast, hopeful and prayerful to God because the governor is working hard to bring long lasting improvement in primary health delivery services to villages across the state.

She intimated the people that the Governor was willing and ready to increase staff strength of community health workers and facilities not only in Adadama but across the entire state.

She cautioned the people against endangering their health in the hands of Traditional Birth Attendants TBA’s, spiritualists, fake pharmacists and chemists, and quack doctors, but to always access the health facilities in the primary health centers and health posts.

Dr Betta assured the excited beneficiaries that she will be coming once every three months to meet with the women to assist with their needs and also help in providing basic education scholarship to some of the youths while applauding them for their continue support and love for the Governor, their son, Hon John Gaul Lebo, Speaker House of Assembly.

Several members of the community expressed gratitude to the duo for bring the free medical outreach to the village.

A chief from a neighbouring village, Elemi Egban, was delighted about the care given by team of doctors and nurses. He prayed for God guidance for the S.A, the Speaker and the State Governor and specially thanked the Governor for engaging their daughter, Dr. Betta Edu as a Special Assistant.
