Cross River State Governor Benedict Ayade, has asked the management of Blueprint Newspaper to partner his State in propagating the efforts of his administration to bring good governance to the people.
The governor also called on other state governments to emulate the Cross River example on how government should give the people a sense of belonging and pride of place as the focal point of development.
Speaking yesterday in Abuja when he visited the Corporate Headquarters of Blueprint Newspaper, the Senior Special Assistant on Communication and Branding to the governor, Dr. Don Claimz Enamhe, said that it was only in Cross River State that a governor did not see regular payment of salary as an achievement.
While delivering the message of the governor to the management of Blueprint, Dr. Don Claimz Enamhe, commended Blueprint Newspaper for its neutrality in political reportage adding that he made it a point of duty to visit the paper first because of its capacity and reach, before going to other organizations.
“The goodwill message from Governor Ayade is that we the people of Cross River State want to partner with Blueprint Newspaper. We cannot do without Blueprint. We cannot do without the press because the governor believes so much in good reputation.”
Ayade’s branding aide, revealed that “Cross River state is the most peaceful state in the Niger Delta. We do not have record of militancy, we don’t have record of kidnapping.”
He said the governor has initiated new ideas and ministries, departments and agencies that will afford Cross Riverians the opportunity to think about what they can contribute to the development of the state.
He further disclosed that the attitude the governor is putting on young people now is that of creativity and resourcefulness by taking agriculture back to the people through the introduction of agricultural loan scheme to encourage farmers.
On tourism he believes that only Calabar in Nigeria can be compared to Cape Town when talking about tourism at the international level in Africa.
While welcoming Ayade’s aide, the Managing Editor of the paper, Clems Oluwole, said the paper was out to offer services in the interest of the masses as a social responsibility.
He said: “We are out to make sure that the masses are not oppressed as a social responsibility to the people.”
He assured the governor of a robust partnership that will be mutually beneficial.
