Mr. Christian Ita, the Chief Press Secretary CPS to Governor Ayade has refuted online reports in some mediums (not CrossRiverWatch) that that is a cold war between his boss and his predecessor, Senator Liyel Imoke.

In a statement issued in Calabar, Ita described the report as half-truth and the figment of the imagination of the writer.

“My attention has been drawn to a news item being circulated in the social media in which I am said to have acknowledged a non-existing cold war between my boss, the Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ben Ayade and his predecessor, Senator Liyel Imoke.

“The report is a figment of the imagination of a depraved writer, whose medium specializes in publishing falsehoods and half-truths, the twin hallmark of yellow or junk journalism. For the avoidance of doubts, I never acknowledged the existence of a cold war between Governor Ben Ayade and Senator Liyel Imoke. This is because there is no cold war between the two leaders.

“If anything, relations between the two leaders couldn’t be warmer. The report is therefore, false in its entirety and lacking foundation. It is a desperately lamentable and despicable antic of an unconscionable lap-dog of a band of thieves and reprobates who have massed together in the state in the name of opposition to the government.” The statement reads.
