In a bid to strengthen the educational sector in the state, the Cross River State government has approved the sum of N2 billion Naira as partnership fund with the Canadian government.
To this end, the approval is to be released from the Education Stabilization Fund available to the state for the establishment of a Nigerian/Canadian International school.
Briefing the media after the Executive Council meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Rosemary Archibong, disclosed that the approval was taken at the end of the meeting.
According to her after several presentations by ministries and deliberations, the state executive council also ratified and approved the expenditure of the construction of the garment and textile factory.
She further disclosed that the Exco also granted the approval for planting of five million trees at the cost of 80 million naira and to be done in stages as well as remuneration and categorization of all political appointees.
