In an usual show of encouragement, three secondary school students of Community Technical College, Ikot Effanga Mkpa and Government Technical College, Meyne avenue both in Calabar, Cross River State, have been given free admission into the Nigerian Association of Technology in Engineering (NATE).
They trio include Master Williams Oju, Miss. Esu Ibia of Government Technical College, Meyne avenue and Master Great Okon of Community Technical College, Ikot Effanga Mkpa.
The National President of NATE, Ahmad Yabagi who made the pronouncement during a two day Engineering Seminar and Exhibition week 2016 held in Calabar said the free admission is to encourage the interest of the young ones to join the association which is designed to promote educational development in Nigeria.
He stated that the association is poised to embark on enlightenment campaign about the activities of NATE as the fulcrum on which Nigeria will become technologically self-reliant.
Commending the association for its generosity on behalf of the beneficiaries, Miss. Esu Ibia, a Building Construction Engineering student, said the gesture will spur them to take their studies in Engineering seriously and promised to propagate the aims and objectives of NATE even though this was her first time to know about the Association; adding that for them the workshop has impacted greatly on them and has also been an eye opener.
