Adadama Women Felicitate With Dr. Betta Edu, Promise To Support Ayade’s Administration

Adadama Ghedina Women Association, an umbrella body of the Women of Adadama in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State, have said that they are committed to supporting the administration of Governor Ben Ayade, for the development strides he has recorded since he assumed office.

The women gave the commitment yesterday when they paid a courtesy call on the DG of the Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency CRSPHCDA, Dr Betta Edu in her office in Calabar.

The group which said their visit was to felicitate with the DG over her recent inauguration into office by the governor, also used the occasion to eulogize the governor and his wife for their due consideration of the Abi people in the programs of their administration.

Leader of the delegation and President of the group, Dr Marcellina Edu in her remark said Adadama Ghedina Women Association, “remain grateful and thankful to God for an opportunity given to our own. We sincerely appreciate our vibrant and proactive governor, Senator Professor Ben Ayade for the developmental strides recorded in all sectors, especially in the health sector and finding it worthy to appoint you as DG CRSPHCDA.

“We would continue to support Her Excellency, Dr. Linda Ayade who has dedicated her time to salvage our women and children from different kinds of ailment through her constant free medical outreach and Hunt Malaria Initiative of her foundation, Mediatrix Development Foundation.”

Dr. Marcellina further commended the DG on her exploits and zeal to reach the target groups especially through her yearly health outreaches in several villages which Adadama community is a beneficiary.

In her response, Dr. Betta Edu, encouraged the women to continue to support the Ayade administration and the leadership of the State House of Assembly, under another Abi son, Hon. John Gaul Lebo, to continue to bring transformation to the state.

She said: “We as Adadama people must continue to stand with the State Governor, Senator Professor Ben Ayade and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Linda Ayade and also support our own son Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo who is now a Speaker to see that this new wind of transformation which His Excellency, Senator Professor Ben Ayade is bringing into Cross River State will continue until everything changes for better.”

She observed that the Speaker, Hon. John Gaul, has been consulting and engaging Chiefs and decision makers from Adadama with a view to finding a lasting solution to the recurring communal crisis in the area, noting that “the State Government is also working so hard to end our security challenges”.

She promised the women that “as part of our priority in the next one year, we will be making the health center in Adadama 100℅ functional as we would renovate, equip it and provide drugs.”

She also promised to assist the extremely poor women and aged women who can still invest in small scale businesses as well as awarding scholarships to indigent school children in Adadama.

Dr. Betta Edu is from Yala LGA but now happily married with three kids in Abi LGA.
