National Vice Chairman, South South of the APC, Prince Hilliard Eta may be heading for collision with the Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari following allegations by the APC Chieftain that his estranged wife, Barrister Mary Ekpere, who is also the First Lady’s lawyer is plotting to use armed security personnel from the Presidency to disrupt his Chieftaincy investiture as ‘Ntufam’ in his hometown Calabar.

Eta while urging his estranged wife to back pedal on her intention and stop causing him further public embarrassment, also asked the Presidency to dissociate itself from the disgraceful plan to avoid bringing itself into ridicule.

In a statement made available to CrossRiverWatch yesterday, the former Cross River State Chairman of CNPP said: “It has come to my knowledge that my estranged wife, Barrister Mary Ekpere, who has been separated from me for well-nigh two years, is actively plotting to bring ridicule and opprobrium upon me by making moves to disrupt my investiture as an ‘Ntufam’ on Saturday 25th June.

“The honour is to be given me by His Royal Majesty, Dr. Patrick Inok Oqua Agbor V, Paramount ruler of Calabar Municipality (my hometown) as a mark of recognition.

“I am most perturbed by the plot of Mary Ekpere to scuttle the event using armed military and police personnel from the Presidential Villa in Abuja and I wish the public to be well aware and be the judge of this unfortunate and unbecoming conduct.

“It is very dishonourable and ignominious that she would even contemplate stooping low enough to hatch such a despicable plan. It is important that the Presidency dissociates itself from her and her disgraceful plan to avoid bringing itself to ridicule.

“I am warning Barrister Ekpere to desist from causing me further public embarrassment as I would not hesitate to bring legal actions against her if she carries on.”

CrossRiverWatch gathered that Prince Hilliard Eta who hails from Calabar Municipal got married to Barrister Mary Ekpere from Ikom LGA, in 2014 in a short lived marriage that ended the same year but the duo have remained at logger heads since then over undisclosed family issues.

Mary Ekpere whose law firm, Mary Ekpere and Co. is now representing the First Lady in the face off with Governor Fayose, is said to have vowed to deal with Eta.

Efforts to reach Barrister Ekpere were not yet successful at the time of filing this report.
