The remains of the Cross River State Chapter Coordinator of Partners for Peace (P4P) in the Niger-Delta, Anthony Ofre, has been laid to rest in his home town, Wula in Boki Local Government Area, Cross River State.
Earlier before been moved to Wula for burial his body was laid in state at the State Secretariat of the NGO in Calabar, the State Capital where Secretary of the Network Mr. Bassey Edem eulogised the deceased saying Mr. Anthony Ofre was a man that had the interest of others at heart and continuously pursued good, sometimes to his disadvantage.
His words “Our coordinator was a man who believed strongly in peace and worked towards achieving it. He was a bridge builder and tried within his powers to resolve any crisis before it escalated. We are going to miss him but we won’t question God”.
Also speaking, Effiom Edet Duke said he was grateful to have known the late Mr. Anthony as his lifestyle was one everyone should emulate as he was quiet, peaceful and hard working. He to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
