Information reaching us has it that Mr. Ededem Ita, former Special Adviser Labor Matters to Senator Liyel Imoke of Cross River State has been kidnapped.
CrossRiverWatch gathered that he was kidnapped around his house in Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River State at about 8-9pm yesterday.
Also, a former Senator and younger brother to former Finance Minister, Senator Patrick Ani was also kidnapped Wednesday from his Asari Eso home in Calabar Municipality. The Senator we also gathered was kidnapped around 7:00pm.
When CrossRiverWatch called the Cross River State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Irene Ugbo she said “We have not heard of the kidnapping of Senator Patrick Ani”.
Also, the State Security Adviser (SSA), Mr. Jude Ngaji’s number was busy at the time of filing this report.
Senator Ani is a third Republic Senator, he represented Cross River South Senatorial District with the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) and unsuccessfully ran for the Cross River Senatorial seat on the ticket of the United Nigeria Party (UNPP) in 2003.
At the time of this filing this report, no news about ransom request has been heard nor any communication between the kidnappers and the family of the victims.
