Leader of the 7th Senate and Chairmanship nominee for the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba SAN has told CrossRiverWatch that his meeting on Thursday with President Buhari in Aso Rock was an opportunity to share thoughts on the President’s vision for the development of the Niger Delta Region.
Egba said the meeting was very fruitful and rewarding because he was able to grasp the expectations of the President regarding the development of the region.
He assured Nigerians that the President is fully committed to the development of the region and appealed to stakeholders to support the administration and the Commission to achieve Mr. President’s laudable dreams for the Niger Delta.
“The meeting was very fruitful. It was an opportunity to share thoughts on Mr. President’s development dream for the region and his expectation from the incoming Board. I want to assure Nigerians that the President has laudable dreams and plans for the region and we should all support the administration and the Commission to achieve these goals.”
Senator Egba also acknowledged that it was a good slant that the President has decided to put the task of developing the Niger Delta region on indigenes of Cross River State, with his own nomination as NDDC Chairman and the appointment of Pastor Usani Usani, another Cross Riverian, as the Minister of Niger Delta Development.
“I think that is a good slant and we will not disappoint the region and Nigeria. If in the wisdom of Mr. President, he decided to take two Cross River people and hand them the task of developing the region, I assure Nigerians that we will work together and with their support, the President’s vision will be achieved.”
