The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the leader of the 7th Senate, Victor Ndoma-Egba as Chairman of the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

The confirmation was done following the adoption of the report presented by the Senator Peter Nwaoboshi led committee on the NDDC after a fiery debate on some of the recommendations that representatives of about 4 states did not meet the criteria for selection.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki called for a voice vote and majority voted to adopt the report.

CrossRiverWatch had reported that, during the screening, Ndoma Egba, a member of the member of the 5th, 6th and 7th Senate was asked to take a bow and go.

He was nominated alongside several others as state representatives including Sylvester Nsa, who was deputy to the Cross River gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 general elections by President Muhammadu Buhari with their names forwarded to the Senate for confirmation on September 28.

Ndoma-Egba officially becomes the second Cross Riverian after Senator Bassey Ewa Henshaw in quick succession, to become Chairman of the NDDC Board.
