Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade Wednesday failed to distribute the vehicles procured by the state for security agencies and the newly created Green Police.
CrossRiverWatch had earlier reported that the distribution was scheduled for Wednesday, with the governor unusually arriving the office at about 2:00PM sparking rumors that it was for the distribution of the vehicles.
The governor however met with a delegation from the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC who paid him a courtesy visit and eventually left for a routine inspection of the Thai-Africa Rice City Project along the Goodluck Jonathan bypass before closing for the day.
It is unclear when the distribution will eventually take place as contractors were still installing siren and communication systems in the vehicles branded for the Homeland Security and Safety Agency.
Meanwhile, the governor announced to Commissioners present at the courtesy call by the RMAFC that there will be a meeting of the State Executive Council today (Thursday).
The Governor upon assumption of office had said that he will scrap weekly SEC meetings and replaced them with enlarged monthly SEC meetings which have been held irregularly.
