FAD 99.9 FM Calabar has launched an application for its audience CrossRiverWatch authoritatively reports.
The app according to our Tech correspondent was launched early in November and developed by the broadcast outfit tech team and offered by Gotright group who according to information contained on Google Playstore have developed about four other similar applications.
FAD FM, a brainchild of Cross River born Nollywood veteran Fidelis Duker is yet to begin full transmission and when on stream according to Fidelis in an interview with CrossRiverWatch; “Will focus on a unique market that is not been catered for currently in the state.”
“The app design is basic, with a size of less than 2 megabytes which comes as a surprise to me, the user interface is okay, it has had about a dozen downloads despite almost no publicity at all” says CrossRiverWatch tech correspondent.
He continues, “The listen live option is great with minimal data usage during buffering. I have been listening to it and great ballads from the likes of Tuface, Asa among others and not forgetting Bruno Mars, Mariah Carey, Beyonce of course whom perhaps may enjoy great airtime.
“The interface to connect with the Facebook and Twitter handles are functional while there seems to be a little bug connecting to the website which has been down briefly.
“Also, the ‘about us’ button is yet to be updated but above all, it is a great great app for audience when they download it as many will just shelve their music players and choose to burn that data instead due to the wonderful collection of music.”
When asked about the prospects of the station hitting the ground running, our correspondent simply said that: “New broadcast outfits are always welcomed in the airwaves of Cross River State.”
The FAD FM app can be downloaded on Google Playstore here.
