Following the Local and State Government civil servants biometric verification exercise concluded by the Cross River State Government, it was able to save over 400 million naira after after weeding out ghost workers.
The disclosure was made by the State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Peter Egba recently while speaking with CrossRiverWatch TV.
According to him, “From the biometric exercise we were able to recoup over 400 million from ghost workers”.
It will be recalled that, the State Government on several occasions has decried the high rate of ghost workers in the system and began a process of flushing them out.
