No fewer than 6 are feared dead between Thursday last week and Monday following a renewed gangstar war between the Supreme Vikings Confraternity (SVC) and the Ku Klux Klan confraternity (KKK) in Calabar the Cross River State capital CrossRiverWatch findings reveal.

It is unclear what sparked off the killing as sources say the first killing occurred Thursday night at a popular relaxation spot along Marian road by Atekong at about 7:30 PM with the assassination of a lecturer in the University of Calabar following suit a few hours later.

This was followed by two killings at Harcourt by Lugard street and Queen Duke street on Friday night.

Another was killed Saturday morning at the populous Etim Edem park with Saturday evening witnessing a daredevil shooting spree at Watt roundabout close to the Atakpa Divisional Police Headquarters with unconfirmed information suggesting a bystander sustained injuries.

At least two were reportedly shot along Whitehouse street on Sunday with one escaping with bullet wounds while the other died.

On Monday morning, sources say one was gunned down at Etta Agbor street while a shooting in the campus of the University of Calabar forced management to close the hostel doors by 8:00 PM after a student sustained injuries from gun wounds.

Allegations are rife that the death of the lecturer, Dr. Emmanuel Igben had sparked the killings.

The Police told CrossRiverWatch that it had dispatched officers to return calm with no arrest made so far.
