The Chairman of the Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Stephen Odey over the weekend said the ongoing renovation work at the Sacred Heart Primary School Bedia, Obudu local government area will be completed as at when due.

Dr. Odey stated this when he went on an unscheduled inspection tour of the site where a new classroom block is to be built while renovation is ongoing at another.

He said that he will be back again to inspect the project as the state aims to ensure that it takes basic education to a higher level to position the state to compete favorably with others.

“I personally supervise and monitor projects myself, every project that is executed by the board and I can assure you that this project will be delivered as at when due” Stephen said and promised that; “when these buildings are completed, I am going to do more for them. We are going to make sure we supply them plastic tables and chairs.

“The Governor, Professor Ben Ayade is very passionate about education and I can assure that by the time we leave government, Cross River basic education will never be the same,” he added.

The institution benefited 2 out of the over 200 contracts awarded by the board earlier this year and is among the over 100 public institutions which will receive a boost in infrastructure after years of decay which led to near and sometimes, total collapse of learning infrastructure.
