Ayade Appoints Former Finance Commissioner, Adede As Special Adviser On Revenue

Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has approved the appointment of Ms Elizabeth Adede as the Special Adviser on Revenue Mobilization.

Adede was appointed the commissioner for Finance in 1994 by the then state’s military administrator, Group Captain Ibrahim Kefas later became a member of the board of a federal agency in 1997 after her appointment by the then Head of State, General Sani Abacha.

A statement signed and issued by his spokesperson, Mr. Christian Ita on Tuesday evening said the appointment of Ms Adede is with immediate effect.

Adede who hails from Obanliku local government area who was initially a Secondary School teacher transferred to the civil service in 1998 after her appointment was terminated and retired last year as a Permanent Secretary in the state civil service with her last posting being the Department of Public Transportation.

Born in Kaduna, she read languages and majored in French before proceeding to do her master’s  degree in Business Administration at the University of Calabar.

She joins Haruna Adede, a relative in the current Government following his appointment as an aide to Governor Ayade who now has two former Finance Commissioners (The other being Etim Caiaphas appointed in the Senator Liyel Imoke’s administration) as Special Advisers in his enlarged administration which is nearing 3,000.
