Organization Begins Sale Of Packaged Staple Foods In Northern Cross River

A profit making organization, YOBOO has begun the sale of branded staple foods in the five local government areas of northern Cross River State with a view to turn the senatorial district into a hub for producing, processing and packaging of farm produce.

The products include Palm Oil, Palm Wine, Yam, Garri, Groundnut, Honey and Rice.

“YOBOO stands for Yala, Ogoja, Bekwarra, Obudu and Obanliku,” said Jude Agaji, the lead strategist.

He told CrossRiverWatch that the organization is registered with its patent, trademark and design under the trade and investment commission with number: RRRv121267189 and currently undergoing registration processes with the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

“We started this dream in 2008 but birthed Sept 6.2014. We have the full support and blessings from the five (5) Paramount Rulers, State House members representing each local government area, all out gone Chairmen, student unions, leader of the Ibo community in Yobooland,” he said.

He continued; “Our vision is to build a community brand that will produce, process (and) package finished farm produces; turning small scale farming into small scale enterprise.

On the labor required, he said that YOBOO is “A community brand strong enough to project commerce and tourism. This initiative will employ and create jobs (for) not less than 5000 people; both direct and indirect employment.

“Our proposed YOBOO international market will turn the northern Cross River state into the busiest hub in trade for local food stuffs.”

The former local government legislator said that the organization is also registered under Gabu Katty and Pagide limited company with team members across the five northern local government areas.
