Calabar Ritualist Pastor Remanded In Afokang Prison

By Ushang Ewa

Mr. Anthony Obo, the ritualist pastor who was arrested a few days ago for the alleged abduction and murder of a teenager has being remanded at the Afokang prison in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

CrossRiverWatch gathered that a Calabar magistrate court had ordered his remand in prison after being arraigned before the court for charges bordering on murder amongst others.

The Police was not available for comment as at press time.

Several calls to the line of the spokesperson, ASP Irene Ugbo rang but were not taken.

CrossRiverWatch had reported that Mr. Obo was arrested alongside six others a few days back after the Police got a tip that he may have been connected to the kidnapping of a year old girl.

Fetish items and an organ suspected to be a human heart was recovered from his church premises on the day of his arrest.

An angry mob later set ablaze, items and part of his church buildings around Calabar.

But, Mr. Obo while being paraded by the Police remained defiant and claimed the blood found in his church premises was that of a goat and not human.
