Imposing Candidates During Elections Is A Mistake – Cross River Inter Party Advisory Council Chairman

The Cross River state Chairman, Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Pastor Sunday Michael has said that “Imposing a candidate on the masses during elections is a big mistake made by political parties.”

The IPAC Chairman stated this while speaking as a panelist at an event organized by OpenVote.ng themed “Continuous Voters Education” held recently at the Kolanut Center, Calabar.

Furthermore, the IPAC Chairman charged political parties to collectively work together towards nation building as Cross River State and Nigeria is neither a project nor a party.

Also speaking alongside, Mr. Sunday Michael, during the panel discussion were other panelists; Mr. Iso Bassey who represented All Progressive Party (APC), John Ogar of Young Democratic Party (YDP), Ekwere Emem of Liberty Party, and Zebis Prince of Young Progressive Party (YPP).

The various speakers highlighted other mistakes made by the political parties to include election thuggery, poor voter’s education at the grassroots amongst others.
