The wife of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River, Dr. Linda Ayade, his Chief of Staff, Mr. Martins Orim and the Chairman elect of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state last weekend commissioned a series of projects in northern Cross River.
The projects commissioned by the trio were a skill acquisition center at Mr. Orim’s community in Obudu and a classroom block, PDP Secretariat and a transformer in Obanliku local government area.
The Secretariat was commissioned by Mr. Orim with the Obanliku chapter executives of the PDP inaugurated after their elections about a year ago.
Mr. Orim also commissioned the classroom block constructed while the transformer was commissioned by Mr. Inok.
These are constituency projects of Honorable Legor Idagbo who represents the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra federal constituency in the national assembly.
In Obudu, the skill acquisition center was commissioned by Dr. Linda Ayade.
An inventory obtained by CrossRiverWatch shows that skills in Welding, Carpentry, Beautification and hair making as well as ICT will be acquired at the center.
The tools include 1 set of small equipment, 1 welding machine, 1 angle grinder, 1 drilling machine, 1 g as welding machine, 2 plate cutter, 2 power flex compressors, 1 spray machine gun, 1 tools box, 1 medium sized hammer, as well as 1 straight and flat chisel for welding.
1 jig saw drill, 1 drilling machine, 1 sand paper machine, a set of saw, a set of 3-way wood working machine, 1 wood turning lathe, a set of screw driver, 1 wooden chisel set, 1 auger brass, 1 smooth plane, 1 jade plane, a spraying machine, 1 planing machine and 1 table sewing machine were acquired for tutoring in Carpentry.
In shoemaking, 1 shoe sewing machine, a set of shoe repair kits, a piece of filing and grinding machine were purchased.
Also, an industrial over locking weaving machine, 1 industrial designing machine, 1 industrial straight sewing machine, 6 butterfly sewing machines, 1 knitting machine, 1 button press machine, 2 sets of design threads and 2 scissors will aid tutors in tailoring.
For the beautification training; 5 dryers, 4 hangers, 5 pieces of trolleys, 5 sets of hair washing basins, 5 pieces of hand dryers, 2 sets of 3 – in – 1 touching machine, 5 sets of steamers, 4 sets of pedicure and foot massage equipment, 3 pieces of Chaoba barbing clippers, 3 pieces of wall mirrors, 4 sets of rollers, 6 sets of gloves and 5 pieces of plastic chairs were purchased.
And, for the ICT component, 4 Hewlett Packard (HP) desktop computers, 4 uninterrupted power supply (UPS) units, a laser jet printer, 2 sets of computer chairs and tables, 1 unit of 1.5 horsepower air conditioning system, 1 power generating set and 5 pieces of ceiling fans were purchased.
