The Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilization has been mentioned in the case between one of Cross River’s state online critic, Ifere Paul and the Police.

While testifying in court earlier today in suit No. MC/1140C/2017 between COMMISSIONER OF POLICE v IFERE PAUL, the Prosecuting Witness (PW1) Mr. Goddy Akpama told the court that on the 18th of August 2017, he received a message from Ifere Paul that he was the one that stopped the cultists that Prince Michael Abuo said he was going to send after him.

Goody stated that before the message, Prince Michael had called and threatened that he was going to send cultists after him, to deal with him.

Akpama who told the court that he was a business man and into politics said he considered Ifere’s message as a threat, as “if he is capable of stopping them from attacking me, he can also order an attack on me.”

The witness said he then printed the message and gave to his lawyer who in turn petitioned the police.

After the prosecution witness testimony, the Prosecuting Counsel asked the court for adjournment and E. Edogi Esq. Chief Magistrate, who presided over the case adjourned the matter to 22nd January, 2018.

Ifere Paul was arrested last month in Abuja and was transported to Calabar where he is facing two different trials.
