By Obeten Godfrey

Mr. Great Ogban, an Enterprise Development Expert and Social Entrepreneur has outlined “lack of capital for start-up, multiple taxation from Government, negative mindset among others” as hindrances to successful entrepreneurial job creation in Cross River State.

Mr. Ogban barred his mind when he spoke as a guest on a radio program “The Dialogue With Agba Jalingo” which holds every Sunday at Hit 95.9FM Calabar.

He further stated that entrepreneurship entails dignity in labor and true independence. “Running your own business is not a child’s play, for someone to be an entrepreneur; he/she has to be mentally and financially prepared. Entrepreneurship is not for everybody.” He said.

He went on to say that job creation should not be left for the government alone, stating that the private sector has a major role to play, and that, “the role of government is to create an enabling environment for the business to thrive.”

In his parting words, he disclosed that the agreement between the Cross River State Government, Central Bank of Nigeria – Enterprise Development Center, and Shield Academy is for a period of five years, and will expire by December, 2017.
