Cross River Health Boss Bags Leadership Newspapers South-South Commissioner Of The Year

Cross River Health Commissioner, Dr. Inyang Asibong has bagged the South – South region commissioner of the year by the Leadership Newspapers Public Service Awards a sponsored statement from the ministry says.

She was presented with the award at the Eko hotel and suites in Lagos and is in recognition of her “outstanding performances” as a commissioner for health, which has put the state among the best performing in Nigeria in terms of healthcare delivery.

She told journalists via telephone that she owes the recognition to God and Governor Ben Ayade; and promised to continue to give her best at all times the statement said.

She is credited to have successfully organized the maiden Cross River State health summit, development and deployment of toll-free smart phones as well as the introduction of the LAMIS Software for health facilities in the State, to drastically reducing maternal mortality rate in the State.

Dr. Asibong is said to have developed a proposal that made Cross River the only south south state in the country to win the bidding rights of MTN Foundation support project to renovate the maternal wards of the General Hospital, Calabar.

Also, she guided the State to emerge the best performing south south state in the Saving One Million Lives Program for Result initiative, among others.
