CrossRiverWatch has obtained a list of gangstars suspected to have been the direct and remote cause of the renewed gang war in Obudu.
The list was drawn up by the youths, Police, Chiefs and some elder statesmen CrossRiverWatch gathered after several meetings and public gatherings on Friday.
The 8 man list consists of Monday Ogar a.k.a “Reverend” who is suspected to be the leader of the Klans Konfraternity; Savior Ogar Odey whom CrossRiverWatch had reported was beaten to a pulp; Amadi and Blackface suspected to be of the Baggars confraternity who were tagged as direct causes of the war; Abetianbe Echa; Christian Adie; Drossy and Passpaddy.
Addressing youths at the commercial cyclists park, the Community Relations Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Akwagiobe had charged the youths to name those perpetrating the violence as he believed “we know them all.”
He accused one Busta Rhymes of being the leader of the Klans Konfraternity which he denied.
A revenue collector, Samuel Adigeb, on his part blamed the government for the continuous gang wars which have claimed lives.
According to him, “Every time the government feels like empowering youth, it empowers only the gangstars, giving them funds to buy this guns and machetes used by them.”
The youths later moved to the Divisional Police Station in Obudu where the Divisional Police Officer, Supol Eyo Lifu, said he was ready to partner with them to fish out those involved.
And, the President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria in Obudu, Mr. Ben Agba said having spoken to some gangstars, it was clear the leaders of the groups had no hand in the war.
They later left to visit a senior chief in the traditional rulers council, Chief Ishoja who said all gangstars caught should be brought before the council of chiefs to be dealt with decisively including excommunication if necessary.
Meanwhile, CrossRiverWatch gathered that Mr. Atsu a.k.a Breeze who was arrested a few days ago has been released with the Police warning him to steer clear of troubled areas.
Also, a crack team comprising of the Army unit in Obudu and the Police are said to have raided the hideouts of some gangs in Bebuabie clan of Obudu but could not arrest anyone.
The trouble began last week following an altercation between members of both gangs which began along Anderson street outside a hangout spot, De Blue Genesis.
