It was a joy filled day in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Duke town Parish as Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State made a pledge of the sum of N20 million to the Church during the thanksgiving service of Chief Asuquo Ekpenyong as he turned 70.
In his address, the Governor referred to the celebrant as “a man of good exposure and education with an ecclesiastic character”.
Governor Ayade who recognized the role of the church in the life of the celebrant maintained that “N15 million is for the procurement of the Church organ and N5 million to the leadership of the Church.”
Justifying the gesture he said that his benevolence “is not because I have enough but because I care enough”.
