Mr. Kishatiunimye Adah, son of the Provost of the College of Health Technology (COHTECH), Calabar who was kidnapped on Tuesday night in Calabar, the Cross River State capital has been released.
The 18 year old was released between Friday night and Saturday morning CrossRiverWatch gathered.
“As we are going back to Calabar, we have reason to smile because the kidnapped child of one of us has been released,” said the Chaplain in charge of the St. Joseph’s chaplaincy in the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) Reverend Father Peter Anditung.
Father Anditung disclosed this during homily at the funeral mass of Mrs. Theresa Atsu, the Godmother of CrossRiverWatch News Editor, Mr. Jonathan Ugbal at the Our Lady Queen of Apostles Parish in Obudu.
He had called on the family and the over 200 people in the church to be consoled in the fact that Mrs. Atsu had “gone to the Lord,” where he explained that life continues and then disclosed the information on Mr. Kisha’s kidnap status as an example that life goes on.
Kisha, as he was popularly referred to was kidnapped around the CRUTECH premises.
A family source said a ransom of NGN15 million was demanded by the kidnappers while others said Mr. Kisha may have just skipped home a few days.
However, the family remains tight lipped about the situation.
Specific details surrounding Kisha’s release remained unclear as at press time.
