The All Progressives Congress (APC) Cross River State has confirmed Chief Clement Ebri, former Governor of the State as the Party Leader.

The confirmation was one of the decisions reached at a meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the party in Calabar Saturday.

According to the new Publicity Secretary, Mr. Bassey Ita in a press release made available to our newsroom, the party agreed that Chief Ebri is highly qualified for the position by virtue of belonging to all the organs of the party coupled with his leadership abilities.

The release “We merely reaffirmed an earlier decision of the zonal body for South-South, that Chief Ebri,  who is a former Governor, Member of National Caucus, Member of Board of Trustees (BOT), Member of the National Executive Committee (NEC), and Member of the State Executive Committee (SEC), should be our leader.” He maintained

Also, according to the release, SEC resolved to commence immediate reconciliation of all aggrieved party members in the State, stating that “a Committee for that purpose has already been put in place and the membership will soon be made public.”

Bassey also announced that “the State caucus will soon be inaugurated and the party is fully ready to put in place the expected change of guard in the leadership of the State come 2019.”
