Cross River Announces Job Openings For Judicial Officers

The Cross River State judicial commission has announced the opening of expression of interest for suitable and qualified candidates for appointments as judicial officers in the judiciary.

A release signed by the commission’s secretary, Catherine Ephraim Esq. and obtained by CrossRiverWatch listed the qualifications to be given considerations to include:

(i) At least (ten) 10 years post-call experience.
(ii) Satisfactory record of service in the magistracy.
(iii) Active and successful practice at the bar as legal practitioner in private practice or legal officer in any public service.
(iv) Credible and satisfactory record of teaching law in a reputable university.
(v) Must be of good character and reputation, and of sound health.
(vi) Should be computer literate.
(vii) Must submit together with their expression of interest, letter(s) of recommendation/nomination from serving or retired judicial officers or Dean and heads of faculty and department (for teachers of law), and/ or their branch NBA among others.

The release also added that: “Letters of interest, with copies of relevant attachment, should be submitted” to the commission’s secretary on or before October 31, 2018.
