Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River has tasked Christians in the State and the world over to I’m in the Virtues of Jesus Christ whose birth, according to him, brought a refreshing dawn to mankind.
Mr. Ayade who described Christ as a symbol of humility and selflessness, stated this in a Christmas message to Christians where he also stressed that the season comes with lessons.
The message was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Ita which qouted Mr. Ayade as saying that Christ’s humility and selflessness should be imbibed by Nigerians, especially, political leaders.
“He was born in a manger, a place no one would chose to be born, yet He is God and Saviour. Christmas reminds us that humility and selflessness are the hallmarks of leadership, as exhibited by Christ Himself,” he said.
“This season readily reminds us of our duties; as political leaders and leaders in all strata of human endavours to show salutary examples in all we do,” Mr. Ayade further said in the statement.
The Governor wished Christians peace and joy as they celebrate the birth of Jesus and charged them to remain committed to the lessons of Christmas.
“As you celebrate the birth of our saviour, remember the reason for the season and let it never depart from you hearts,” he said.
