Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery squad (SARS), have arrested one Mr. Ititim Akikieye also known as ‘Nigeria’ in connection to the roasting of Miss Vivian Okpara also known as ‘ChinaGold’ on December 28, 2018.

Mr. Ititim who hails from Abonkib village of Obudu, is a relative to Mr. Peter Akikieye who was beaten to death on December 25, 2018 and his motorcycle stolen from him along Bishiri road in Obudu.

Okpara was accused of aiding and abetting members of a team of motorcycle snatchers and kidnappers before she was seized from her home at Bekpam layout in Obudu, stripped nude, beaten and dragged to the cyclists park in Obudu and set ablaze by a mob whose members are being chased by the Police.

An eyewitness told CrossRiverWatch that: “We were all sitting by the road side opposite Liberty Guests house along Ukwel-Obudu road on Monday night (January 6, 2019) when the police men walked up to us, pointing their touches on our face one after another and later asked ‘Nigeria’ to follow them to the van; that was how he was arrested.”

Nigeria, who is currently in detention, is believed to have appeared in one of the video of ChinaGold incident when the Mob took her to late Mr. Peter Akikieye’s grave to swear blind over her innocence in his murder.

A source told CrossRiverWatch that she stood on the grave but was not allowed to swear as she was being beaten up without a breathing space.
