The former Head of the Department of Mass Communication in Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) Rev. Felix Ajoku has called on the Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Akon Joshua to get rid of lecturers that indulge in sorting, trade on sex for marks and humiliation of students.
The Clergyman made the call while speaking as a guest Preacher in a solemn assembly organized by the management of the varsity with the theme: “The Lord Our God, He Will Help Us.”
His words, “If we have to achieve excellences in living, we have to believe in something. The belief that will give us the sense of direction and purpose. Without values we cannot get to anywhere as an institution neither as a Nation.
“That is why if you are a lecturer here you are busy sleeping with a girl asking them to admit hotel rooms where you will sleep with them and come and change grade you are doing damage, irreparable damage to the system and God is going to judge you.
“Acting Vice Chancellor, if you want to succeed and make this place a place of excellence you are going to rid these lectures who torment students, destroy people that are excellent. Some of you collect money in other to change grade.” He retired by encouraging participants to stay focus and trust in God.
Responding, the Acting Vice Chancellor admonished students to desist from negative activities on campus and glue to God, desist from tempting their lecturers.
“Students please stay glue to God, leave cultism and don’t tempt lecturers with money and lecturers please hold straight don’t fall into that temptation it is bad.” She said.
The solemn assembly however offer the CRUTECH community opportunity to thank God, cry to Him for mercy and consecrate the institution into His hands. Prayers where made for student, staff, management, Acting VC, State and the Nation at large.
