No fewer than five communities in Obudu are currently deliberating how best to chase Fulani herders who had occupied hilly areas of Ohong, Bedia, Ibong, Bebuabie, Begiaba, Kutiang and Akorshie communities.
Five of the said villages had come together and nominated 10 youths whom were tasked to eject the herders who are said to have taken up settlement along the hills visiting these communities only to get foodstuffs.
A video obtained by CrossRiverWatch showed the arrival of the herders at Ohong community roundabout before proceeding for deliberations at the village square for deliberations on their proper ejection.
In the video, women could be heard praising the youths who had gone up the hills to chase the herders.
“You are supposed to be rewarded with more than enough food,” one woman said.
Another had asked about the whereabouts of the owners and the first replied in astonishment; “see the little children that control the herd!”
