Ogoja Varsity Will Compliment Your Industrialisation Drive – Northern Youths Write Ayade

Being an open letter to Governor Ben Ayade by leaders of the National Youth Council of Nigeria in northern Cross River State on the establishment of the Federal University of Technology, Ogoja.

RE: HOUSE BILL 1293, A BILL FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY OGOJA 2019.

Your Excellency,

We write on behalf of the youths and people of Northern Cross River Senatorial district; first, to congratulate you on your well deserved victory in the March 9, 2019 gubernatorial elections and your subsequent inauguration as the Governor for a second term.

Your victory is an affirmation of the people’s appreciation of the landmark achievements recorded in your first term and a confirmation of the people’s belief in you as the right leader who has the capacity to steer Cross River State through the murky (waters) it currently is found in. We are convinced beyond doubt that your administration’s focus on industrialization is the key to sustainable development in Cross River State.

Thus, as young people of the Northern senatorial district, we are solidly behind your administration programmes and objectives, and commit irrevocably to give you our unalloyed support as you work to ameliorate the plight of the poor masses in our senatorial district.

Your Excellency, it is in line with the above that we wish to humbly draw your attention to the subject matter of this letter: “House Bill 1293, A bill for the establishment of Federal University of Technology Ogoja” which according to authoritative and verifiable report has been passed by both Houses of the National Assembly and is currently awaiting presidential assent to formally become an act of the National Assembly.

The establishment of a University of Technology in Ogoja is all that is needed to build capacity in technological skills that would compliment the industrialisation drive of your administration, generate employment opportunities for our teeming youths and reduce avoidable deaths of young people who have to travel over 400km to acquire university education outside the senatorial district.

Consequently, Your Excellency Sir, we urge you to use your good offices as the Executive Governor of the State to plead the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as engage all instruments of lobby on all concerned and neccesary to cause the President to give speedy assent to the bill for the improvement of technology education in our dear State.

We remain committed to your administration and wish you a successful second term in office.

Yours faithfully, for and on behalf of Northern Cross River Youth Council of Nigeria.

Signed,
