CRUTECH: NASU, SSANU Embarks On Warning Strike

The None Academic Staff of University (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigeria University (SSANU) CRUTECH chapter have joined the five days National warning strike embarked by the Union over the Federal Government inability to comply to their demands.

Arising from a meeting this morning in the Varsity, the Secretary NASU Comr. Eno Ekweboma stressed that the action is a directive sent from the National Headquarter to kick off the five days warning strike.

“We received directive from our National Headquarter of NASU and SSANU which is a Joint Action Committee, that we are going to embark strike.

“It is a warning strike, already an agreement had been reached, it has being discussed at the National that certain things that the Union had put as demands the Federal Government has failed to comply.

“If there is no reply we now decide when we Will now go for total strike.” He said.

According to the directive which read in part it express thus: “Following the expiration of the 14days ultimatum given to the Government and it failure to show firm commitment toward resolving the following issues; payment of earned allowances, University Staff Schools Matter and Renegotiation of 2009.

“You are hereby directed to embark on a five(5) day warning strike effective from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd August 2019.” It ends.

Meanwhile at the time of filing this report the school library and some general offices in the Campus had been lock.
