Agba Jalingo And The Incompetence Of Governor Ayade’s Aides BY FIRST BABA ISA

Before you appoint a man to a position of talking, you must make sure he has mastered the art of silence.

Most of Governor Ayade’s aides who were appointed into “talking positions” like press, communication, new media, etc don’t know that silence is an integral part of effective communication.

These guys are in love with the sound of their voices, silence frightens them; so whenever there is silence, their knee jerk reaction is just to start talking… They will say anything, no matter how untrue, no matter how unplanned. Such glorious incompetence.

This is what you get when you turn appointment to public service into a social welfare scheme: you don’t appoint the trained and qualifed, you appoint the needy, the hungry and the less privileged not because they are qualified, for the needy, the hungry and the less privileged can also be qualified but because they shouted slogans during the elections. That is why the emphasis is that the appointment is food on the table for those who delivered their polling units. Such glorious ineptitude.

Agba Jalingo, one of the most brilliant writers and analytical minds we have in Cross River State is in jail, courtesy of the governor, while some clowns parading themselves as the Governor’s aides are running in a circus spewing badly written articles, spinning half naked lies and misappropriating the goodwill Cross River State has garnered over the years.

Well, Ayade deserves these aides. A Governor who doesn’t want to be criticized need these clowns around him to always shout: “Hallelujah to the King of kings and the Lord of lords.”

But in the end, there will be an end.
