The remains of Mrs. Beatrice Agba were penultimate weekend, laid to rest in her native Bedia community of Obudu Local Government Area.
Mrs. Agba was the fourth wife of the late Major Simon Adugba Agba and step mother to CrossRiverWatch publisher, Agba Jalingo.
She died earlier this year aged 72. While commuting her to mother earth, Rev. Fr. Paschal Ngang said that she had lived a life worthy of emulation and admired by all which was why many gathered despite the fear of the COVID-19 pandemic to bid her farewell.
According to Mrs. Fidelia Ubi, her step daughter, Mrs. Agba was “a mother to all who never quarreled with anyone. As her children, we will often run to her and she was more than a mother to us, she was more of a sister and a friend.”
For Emmanuel Agba, her son, “Mama’s death came as a shock to all of us. She was hale and hearty, one moment and no one thought of her going anywhere anytime soon. I pray God gives us the fortitude to not only bear her loss, but also ensure her legacy lives on.”
