The merriam webster’s dictionary describes scam as a noun which means “a fraudulent or deceptive act or operation.”

The workers have been protesting since Monday after an ultimatum they issued to the state government elapsed.

They said their names were delisted from the payroll of the Cross River State government 13 months ago by Mr. Ayade.

Mr. Ayade had claimed that their recruitment was fraudulent and did not follow due process. But, the workers denied this with some displaying their employment and confirmation letters.

On Thursday, they began marching from the new secretariat complex which houses sensitive government offices to the Governor’s office where they began chanting songs including the one where the described the Governor as a swindler.
