Burglars have broken into Blessed Electronics shop located at No. 2 Ndidem Usang Iso (Marian) road, Calabar Municipality by Rabana roundabout and made away with valuables worth thousands of Naira.
The looting was carried out Tuesday (10th November, 2020) night. The hoodlums made their way into the shop by breaking through the roof and wall to find their way out.
Residents living in the area claimed that they were oblivious of the unlawful operation till Wednesday morning, some were perplexed that it occurred at the nose of a curfew post manned by the army.
Narrating his odd of the incident, the CEO of Blessed Electronics, Mr. Chijioke Onovo said, “I left here yesterday around after 8pm in the night, it was this early morning I got a phone call that armed robbers have already vandalized my shop. So as I came, the roof and wall also opened.
“So I found out that they have already taken goods worth more than six hundred thousand naira out of my shop, since then I have been running up and down, I don’t know what I will do. They left with eight televisions and other items like DVDs and home theatres.”
He further explained that the items stolen were purchased with funds he loaned a month ago, meanwhile, compliant had been made to the Nigeria Police.
As of the time the incident happen, questions have been raised of the presence of security operatives in the area as it happened just by the roundabout where road blocks are positioned to enforce the curfew imposed by the State Government.
