Cross River State Government has confirmed receipt of 20.4 million dollars grant from World Bank.
The grant is from the State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SFTAS) program, which began in 2018, to terminate in 2022.
The State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr, revealed this at a press briefing Friday in his office.
He said the State met the criteria for the program in 2019 and was accordingly pre-qualified for the detailed annual performance assessment, of all qualified Nigerian States.
He assured that, the State is geared towards getting the next grant.
In appreciation, the Executive Chairman, Cross River State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Akpanke Ogar, lauded the State Civil service for their efforts in getting the grant ranking them among the best Civil Service in the country.
