The management of CrossRiverWatch says it has taken a strategic editorial decision to further diversify it’s readership base.

The Newspaper’s Managing Editor, Mr. Jeremiah Archibong in a statement issued on Saturday evening said the diversification is in line with the decision of the editorial team to continue proffering solutions where necessary.

“Since inception, CrossRiverWatch has focused on purely news, views and analysis originating from, concerning or with a perspective that is Cross River.

“However, as we seek to diversify our readership base in line with our commitment to not just build the bridge between the different pillars in the society, we have created two new desks – Civic Space and Akwa-Cross Entertainment,” the statement read.

On the reason for expansion, the statement further read: “The civic space and creative industry in both States is so intertwined and woven in terms of underreporting that any attempt to separate them, will be a great disservice to the region.

“The Civic Space beat will cover human right violations, administration of the criminal justice law, rule of law and democratic practices in the entire Niger Delta Region.

“Akwa-Cross Entertainment desk is unique because it offers entertainers the opportunity to sell, share and promote intellectual content from comedy skits to music, short and feature films, series, poetry, art exhibition, photography and many others.

“We will utilize URLs and other sharing tools to achieve this. Acceptable file types are videos (MP4), audios (MP3) and pictures (JPEG). File size should not exceed 5mb, links (YouTube) are acceptable too if it exceeds 5mb. Contents should be sent via WhatsApp through 08139208189, a brief description about should accompany the file,” the statement added.

Mr. Archibong maintained that “by sending us your content you consent to external download of such content(s) in Akwa-Cross Entertainment News which is permitted”.
