Some apartments along Lagos street in Calabar, the Cross River State were razed in an inferno late Friday afternoon.
The fire began at about 5:00PM with the cause unknown as at press time.
Sympathizers and passers-by tried to put it off while reaching the State fire service but to no avail.
The houses affected have thatched roofing.
