Flagging off the walkathon at Nellas Garden, the State Coordinator of CCSN, Leader Ben Usang said the theme for this year’s World Environment Day 2021 is apt for the State at a time like this where Cross River has the largest rainforest in Nigeria which is also depleting on a daily basis. He beckoned to all and sundry to pay attention to the rainforest in order to ensure it is restored.
The first stop for the walkathon which featured educating citizens on possible actions to take in saving the environment was Lemna community, Calabar Municipality Local Government Area. The visit to Lemna revealed that “there’s a waste crisis in Calabar,” said Leader Ben Usang.
