Obol Ubi Itam Ettah, a two term Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Area of central Cross River has been kidnapped.

Ettah, an oil baron also known as Bomboi, who served as council chairman from 2007 to 2013 was abducted yesterday at his fueling station, Wenwon Muka in Ugep a few days to the annual Leboku festival.

Sources say he was whisked away by five gunmen wielding AK 47’s.

A stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party, he was in charge of the Ekori Paradise Toothpick Factory constructed by the Cross River State Government and later defected to the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) to contest for the seat of the Senator representing central Cross River at the National Assembly.

He later defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is said to had left back to the People’s Democratic Party recently after the Governor, Benedict Ayade was railroaded into joining the APC.
