Transcorp Hotel Debunk Robbery Incident, Says It’s Hand Work Of Mischief Makers

The management of five star hotel in Calabar, Cross River State capital, Transcrop Hotel has debunked an alleged robbery incident in its hotel. It describes it as “completely false and appears to have been deliberately made to mislead the public.”

The management in a press release said they are left in awe the purported Tiktok video shared by one @hermajestynor, alleging that two foreigners were robbed, their hotel rooms ransacked by robbers alleged to be staff of the hotel.

It further stated that such incident never happened, and urge the public to disregard such viral video which is capable of denting the image of the company and State in general. Adding that, they cannot compromise security of their guests.

The release reads, “Our attention has been drawn to spurious allegations against the hotel and its staff by a Tiktok user @hermajestynora, regarding a robbery incident that never happened. The unfounded claim in the video is completely false and appears to have been deliberately made to mislead the public.

“As a reputable leading hospitality destination, delivering excellent services in Nigeria, Transcorp Hotels Calabar, consistently gives priority to the security, protection, and comfort of our guests and we do not compromise same for any reason whatsoever.

“We, therefore, urge the public to disregard the video in its entirety, even as we have instructed our lawyers to take appropriate legal actions against parties associated with the misleading and defamatory video.”

At the time of filing this report, the video has been pulled down while Transcrop says it will institute legal actions on account of defamation.
