Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has presented the 2022 appropriation bill to the House of Assembly.
The State expects to spend NGN276 billion out of which NGN106 billion is for recurrent expenditure and NGN170 billion is earmarked for capital expenditure.
There was uncertainty over the presentation of the budget due to the ongoing strike action by organized labor in the State with negotiations stalled.
However, the spokesman to the Speaker of the Assembly issued a statement on Friday morning saying the budget will be laid before the Assembly by noon.
The State’s fiscal law demands that the budget be presented on or before the last working day of October of the preceding year.
