By CrossRiverWatch Admin

The leadership of the ninth Assembly of Cross River State on Wednesday visited the immediate family of two term lawmaker, Elizabeth Ironbar (PDP, Akpabuyo) to commiserate with them over her passing.

Led by the Speaker, Eteng Williams (PDP, Yakurr II), the lawmakers described Ironbar’s passing as “light” that has gone of in Akpabuyo.

Ironbar passed away in the late hours of Tuesday after a protracted illness, and Eteng described her as the Mother of the House.

“We are here to condole with you and let you know that we share in your loss. I shared a relationship with your mother beyond just being colleagues, She was my adviser, she talks to me as a mother. Today, the light of Akpabuyo is gone but we cannot question God,” he said.

For the Leader of the House, Peter Odey Ironbar’s death, “is a great loss to us. We are still in shock and I cannot understand where this wind of death is coming from.”

Responding, the first son of the deceased thanked the Speaker and his delegation for the visit and said his family is encouraged.

“Your early visit today has lightened our pain. As a family, we believe our Mother has gone home to rest and we know her legacies will speak for her.

“I want to state that afflictions shall not arise again in the House of Assembly,” he added.
