Hit FM At 6: Broadcast Station Begins Week Long Activity With Orphans

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

Ahead of it’s sixth anniversary celebration, the management of Hit 95.9FM Calabar on Wednesday, visited two social facilities in the State catering for the needy and vulnerable to donate items.

The station switched on commercially for full operations on February 1, 2016 following weeks of test broadcasts.

And, the Infant Jesus Orphanage Home, a Roman Catholic establishment and the Gapolunya Foundation Charity, both in Calabar, were beneficiaries of what has become an annual gesture for the broadcast firm led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Patrick Ugbe.

At the Infant Jesus Orphanage Home, the head, Rev. Sr. Christiana Chinemerem commended the gesture of the broadcast firm.

She averred that: “I thank God for everything because if we are not alive, there is no way we can be here. We thank you for what you people gave us for it is not easy, after all, we did not send people to the market to buy anything,” adding that, their major sustenance remained praying for their benefactors.

“It is one of our sustenance here, Prayers, that God will continue to bless our benefactors and benefactresses, our friends and well wishers because once it is good for them, it will be good for us. So, we are praying that God continues to bless each and everyone of you,” the nun said.

For Lydia Inah, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gapolunya Foundation Charity, public support is key in running social facilities.

“I am just the one that God picked to be in this charity home, but, it is people like you, your thoughts, your prayers and your support that keep this children going. There are 25 children and without people like you, tell me, what would I be able to do to cope with so many children?,” Inah queried.

On Thursday, (today) and Friday, the media outfit will distribute cooking gas while premium motor spirit (fuel) will be distributed on Monday, January 31, 2022 with intending beneficiaries expected to tune into the station for further information.
