The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State, Alphonsus Eba has urged party faithfuls not to “worry about,” a Federal High Court judgment which sacked State lawmakers on Monday.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Abuja division of the Federal High Court had ordered the sack of the lawmakers for defecting from the People’s Democratic Party where they were elected into offices in 2019.

Justice Taiwo had, in his judgment in suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/975/2021 said the lawmakers needed to vacate their seats since they had abandoned the party which brought them to power.

But, Mr. Eba took to Facebook to say the party will appeal the case where it hopes to get a favorable judgment.

“The Federal High court judgment that was given against our law makers (sic) is nothing to worry about,” Eba wrote, adding that: “We trust that the appellate courts will do justice as we file our appeal.”

He further averred that: “No APC member should be distracted (please).”
